The Akron Bar Association Lawyers Assistance Committee provides education and confidential assistance to lawyers, judges, and law school students who are affected by the problems of alcohol or substance abuse, stress, depression, or other mental health issues. Consistent with the mission of the Bar Association, our goal is to assist in the prevention and early identification of problems that can affect professional conduct and quality of life. We intend to provide intervention before the problems become overwhelming. All Akron Bar Association members are welcome to join this committee by contacting the Chief Executive Officer and completing an interview with the committee chair(s).
If you or someone you know is in need of help, please contact either the Committee Co-Chairs or any member of the Committee below.
Confidentiality
Our services are STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL pursuant to Prof. Cond. R. 8.3(c); Committee members and Akron Bar Staff signs an oath affirming their commitment to confidentiality.
