Grants

The Akron Bar Foundation (Foundation) welcomes grant requests from 501(C)(3) nonprofit organizations to fund law-related programs or projects that serve the communities of Summit County, Ohio. The Foundation strongly encourages community collaboration! Before submitting your grant request packet, we recommend verifying that your programs or projects match our interests. If you have questions about the grant request packet or the Foundation, please contact our Foundation and Community Relations Director.

 

Submission Deadline

The Foundation reviews grant request received before April 3, 2026. To be eligible for consideration, please complete and submit a Grant Request Packet (Packet). Incomplete or late submissions will not be eligible for consideration, and submission does not guarantee endowment.

To complete an electronic submission, please combine the Packet's separate documents into one (1) pdf file, and email this file to the Foundation and Community Relations Director.

New Applicants

Please include the following documents in your grant request packet:

  1. A Cover Letter;
  2. Grant Application;
  3. Statement of Revenue, Support & Expense Form;
  4.  Budgeted Revenue, Support & Expense for Current Fiscal Year Form;
  5. And a Project or Program Budget Form.

Previous Grant Recipients

Please include the following documents in your grant request packet:

  1. A Cover Letter;
  2. Grant Application;
  3. Statement of Revenue, Support & Expense Form;
  4. Budgeted Revenue, Support & Expense for Current Fiscal Year Form;
  5. Program Budget Form;
  6. A Interim Report Form, which is completed mid-way through project or program;
  7. And a Final Report Form.

 

Reporting

If the Foundation awards endowment, grant request recipients are required to submit an Interim Report Form and Final Report Form.

Please Note: Interim or Final Grant Request Reports are due by the 31st day of Dec.
