Description: This seminar is designed to help attendees recognize and understand implicit bias (also called unconscious or hidden bias).  Implicit bias can lead to interpersonal conflicts and other negative day-to-day interactions. In the workplace setting, such unawareness of bias can lead to incorrect, inappropriate and even unlawful decisions related to hiring, promotion, performance management, and termination. Raising individuals' awareness of the reality of implicit bias can be a meaningful step in advancing diversity and inclusion within workplaces.  Attorneys who understand the impact of implicit bias and learn to recognize it in themselves will be better equipped to serve clients whose identities and life experiences are different from theirs.   This session will aid attendees in taking practical steps to recognize, understand, and address implicit bias.
