Summit County, Ohio - The Summit County Offender Recidivism Reduction (SCORR) Program is pleased to announce that a group of SCORR participants dedicated their time and talents to volunteer at the Akron Ronald McDonald House.
The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Ohio’s mission is to enhance the healthcare experience for families and children through comfort, care and supportive services, which includes providing families with a welcoming place to stay while their critically ill children are receiving care. Recognizing the importance of extending a helping hand during these challenging times, SCORR participants joined in with RMHC’s efforts to contribute this meaningful cause.
“Giving uplifts both the giver and the receiver. SCORR was honored to support the efforts of the Akron Ronald McDonald House in serving these courageous families during their time of difficulty. We appreciate the core mission and vision of RMHC of Northeast Ohio and look forward to other opportunities to partner with them. SCORR is a Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) grant funded, pilot program modeled after the Swift, Certain and Fair supervision strategy for felony offenders on Community Control. SCORR provides an increased level of accountability and structure to promote long term behavior change and to improve offender outcomes in successfully completing their Community Control along with overall reductions in substance abuse, recidivism and incarceration.
