An Invitation to Contribute to a World Justice Project Rule of Law Index® Pilot Project in Ohio
As a member of one of Ohio’s metropolitan bar associations, you’re invited to participate in the World Justice Project’s (WJP) pilot study measuring the rule of law in Ohio and how it compares to aggregated expert data from the United States at large (using results from the WJP Rule of Law Index® 2021).
Each participant will complete a WJP Rule of Law Index 2022 Qualified Respondents’ Questionnaire (QRQ) in one of the following fields: Civil and Commercial Law; Constitutional Law, Civil Liberties, and Criminal Law; and Labor Law. These questionnaires gather timely information on a range of topics – such as the efficacy of courts, the strength of regulatory enforcement, and the reliability of accountability mechanisms – from practitioners who frequently interact with state institutions.
Findings derived from the data collected for this project will be presented during WJP Executive Director Elizabeth Anderson’s remarks at the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s Law Day event on May 3rd, 2022. This event will be streamed for those not attending in-person. Note that survey responses from this pilot study will be separated from those used in analysis for the 2022 Index, and as such, will not be eligible for acknowledgement in the WJP Rule of Law Index 2022 report upon publication later this year.
The WJP constructs this pilot study with strict guidelines in regard to the confidentiality of the data gathered and the privacy of the respondents. Each participant’s individual responses will remain strictly confidential. Responses are aggregated preceding any statistical analysis or reporting of results to ensure that individual responses cannot be ascertained. The survey is not indexed by search engines.

What Is the WJP Rule of Law Index®? How can legal practitioners help with the Index? The Qualified Respondents’ Questionnaires (QRQs) consist of close-ended questions completed by in-country practitioners and academics around the world with expertise in the following disciplines: 1) Civil and Commercial Law; 2) Constitutional Law, Civil Liberties, and Criminal Law; 3) Labor Law; and 4) Public Health.
