Summit County, Ohio - Judge Joy Malek Oldfield of the Summit County Court of Common Pleas, General Division, has been selected as a 2026 Women of Distinction Honoree by the Girl Scouts of North East Ohio (GSNEO).

Selected from a highly competitive pool of nominees, Judge Oldfield is among ten women recognized for their leadership, service, and lasting contributions to the community.

The Women of Distinction Award recognizes women who have made significant contributions as business, community, and civic leaders, while demonstrating a strong commitment to supporting opportunities for women and girls. Honorees are selected for their impact, leadership, and continued efforts to empower future generations.

Judge Oldfield will be formally honored at the Women of Distinction event on Thursday, 5/14/26, at the InterContinental Hotel Cleveland. The event will include a pre-event reception, program, and luncheon celebrating this year’s honorees and supporting the mission of Girl Scouts of North East Ohio.

Judge Oldfield stated “Confident girls grow to be confident women. Throughout my career, I have been committed to serving our community and working to create opportunities that empower women and young girls to pursue their goals with confidence. And, as the mother of three daughters, all of whom have participated in Girl Scouts of Northeast Ohio, I’m so honored to receive this award.”

The Women of Distinction program supports Girl Scouts of North East Ohio’s mission to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. Additional information about the program and past honorees can be found at www.gsneo.org/WDA.
