Summit County Common Pleas Court -Administrative Judge Alison McCarty announced today that the Court’s General Division has appointed Nicole M. Quester as its new Court Executive Officer, the first female to ever hold the position.
In this capacity, Nicole is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the court, including personnel, finance, maintenance, technology and security matters. Although the Court Executive Officer position traditionally reports to the Administrative Judge, Nicole works at the pleasure of all ten judges.
“It was my hope to have someone assume this role with a strong legal background. Nicole has not only met those expectations, with her experience as a Magistrate and the Director of Human Resources here at the Court, she exceeded it,” explained McCarty.
Nicole holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Akron Law School where she graduated magna cum laude ranking in the top 10% of her class. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from The Ohio State University. Nicole’s professional background outside the court includes internal risk management and ethical compliance work for an international law firm and contract review and negotiation for a global leader in scientific content and knowledge management.
“Nicole is hard working, highly competent, a team player and also has a deep understanding of the court’s vision and mission to serve our constituents faithfully while also providing a supportive workplace environment for our employees. I look forward to seeing her grow into this position and lead this court in an effective and positive way.” said McCarty.
When asked about her new role as Court Executive, Nicole said, “I value this institution and the people who work here; I am excited to take on this new position and work collectively with our Judges and Court leadership to serve the public and advance the work of the General Division.”
