As cryptocurrencies become more commonly and securely exchanged, lawyers are seeking information on how to advise their clients and stay abreast of the latest legal trends. This one hour seminar will provide an introduction to digital currency. It is specifically designed to help lawyers understand how cryptocurrency (and the related matters of Bitcoin, Blockchain, Ethereum, initial coin offerings, utility tokens, etc.) will be a part of their legal practice in 2018 and beyond.
About the Speaker:
Emily Janoski-Haehlen joined the Akron Law faculty in 2017. Professor Janoski-Haehlen is the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Institutional Excellence, the Director of the Law Library and teaches Technology in Law and Legal Reasoning. Her current research explores social media law, internet privacy, legal research instruction strategies, and technology in the practice of law.
Prior to joining Akron Law, Professor Janoski-Haehlen served as Associate Dean of the Law Library at Valparaiso University Law School and as a faculty member and librarian at Northern Kentucky University, Chase College of Law.
Professor Janoski-Haehlen is a member of the Kentucky Bar, the American Association of Law Libraries, Ohio Regional Association of Law Libraries, and she serves on accreditation teams for the American Bar Association. She earned her B.S. in History from the University of Kentucky, her M.S. in Library Science from the University of Kentucky and her J.D. from Northern Kentucky University.

The Bar Association is only able to order Box Lunches if we receive a MINIMUM OF FOUR (4) orders, and if we are unable to place the order, we will send notice and issue refunds. To process orders, we must receive them by 5 pm two (2) business days before the event. Members can cancel their orders before the deadline, but unfortunately, after the deadline they are nonrefundable.

Box Lunch Options:
Sandwich box lunches will include chips, pickle, cookie, condiment packets, & bottled water. Coffee and tea is available. Soda is purchasable from the vending machine.
