Continuing Legal Education (CLE)

"Active attorneys and attorneys registered for corporate status must complete 24 hours of accredited CLE activities every two years" (Supreme Court of Ohio, 2021).  The lawyers' last name determines the reporting deadline.

Reporting Deadlines:

A-L must complete their educational hours by the end of each odd-numbered year;
And M-Z must complete their educational hours by the end of each even-numbered year.

"If an attorney's name changes after the attorney is admitted to the practice of law or registers for corporate status, the attorney remains in the same alphabetical grouping as assigned when first admitted the practice of law for all future reporting purposes" (Supreme Court of Ohio, 2021).

Annually, the Akron Bar Association provides more than 200 hours of local CLE courses.​ Akron Bar's CLEs showcases innovationinspiration, and impact in the law while focusing on delivering the highest quality of legal education content.

 


How to Take CLE Courses

1. Live In-Person - A CLE course is a live CLE program that participants attend in-person.

2. Live Interactive Webinar - A live CLE program that is viewed remotely at a specified broadcast time. The webinar is interactive because participants can ask questions of the presenter or chat with other participants.

3. Self-Study - A pre-recorded CLE program that is viewed remotely at anytime. Self-Study course are not interactive.
