Ab Initio Article Sept 2009 Examiner
“FROM THE BEGINNING” WITH AB INITIO
Summer is coming to a close but the temperature is
just starting to heat up with the newly developed Ab Initio Section of the Akron Bar Association. After months of
hard work, determination and unwavering support from the Executive Director and
the Board of Trustees of the Akron Bar Association Ab Initio was created. What
is Ab Initio? Latin for “from the beginning” Ab Initio is a
fresh, new, fun, exciting and rewarding section of the Akron Bar Association
that focuses on leadership development of attorneys and law students under the
age of 35 or who have been practicing for 5 years or less.
Developed and implemented by the leadership of the
former New Lawyers Committee, Ab Initio
will serve as a forum to assist new lawyers in their profession and integrate
new lawyers and law students into the Akron Bar Association and the Akron legal
community. Ab Initio will be the
place to be for all young and newly practicing attorneys and law students who
wish to learn valuable leadership lessons and have an opportunity to grow not
only as a professional but as an individual. Surrounded by great leadership Ab Initio has already been hard at work
developing programs for the upcoming year.
Ab Initio and its newly elected executive council held a
retreat in July that included section development, fun, food and bowling! A
great time was had by all and much of the foundation for the upcoming year was
laid. Upcoming events for the Ab Initio
