ABOUT THE PARALEGAL SECTION
This section's mission is to help build a panel through the Akron Bar Association that will enable paralegals in the area to build a strong professional relationship with not only the legal community but the Akron community as a whole.
The Paralegal Section typically meets at 11:45 am on the second Tuesday of each month (excluding December, July & August). Meetings feature a free lunch and may also feature a CLE presentation on a practice area specific topic. These programs are also sometimes good for credit toward paralegal certification requirements.
Regular networking events provide a means to connect with other professionals in the area. Monthly Sidebars enable you to get to know your peers at a fun and relaxed monthly gathering such as a cocktail hour or an Akron Aero's baseball game, for example. Visit our calendar to see more upcoming events.
Need a paralegal, but don’t have the resources to have a paralegal on staff?
The Paralegal Committee and the Solo & Small Firm Section have partnered together to start a program where attorneys can hire a paralegal on an as-needed-basis.
The attorney will have the ability to choose a paralegal from a group of well educated and experienced paralegals. All details of the project and wages will be discussed and agreed to between the attorney and the paralegal.
If you are interested in hiring a paralegal on an as-needed-basis please contact the Chair of the Paralegal Committee.
