2011-2012 Lawyer To Law Student Mentor Program

The Akron Bar Association’s University of Akron Liaison Committee needs your help!!!!

The 2011 - 2012 Lawyer to Law Student Mentor Program begins Thursday October 6th. Thanks to your generosity, the program has been a success for many years, and we hope to continue that success with the 2011-2012 Program.

We have made several exciting modifications to this year’s Program, including a change in the start and end dates so that the Program now corresponds with the school year. In addition, we are requiring each potential law student mentee to attend a mandatory one-hour mentee training session, during which we will reinforce the importance of taking the Program seriously.

We would very much value your participation as a mentor. The Program pairs local attorneys with University of Akron law students to create a mentoring relationship through which the mentor provides the mentee with guidance and practical perspective about the practice of law. The Bar Association provides a pool of potential activities, and the mentor and mentee select several activities from that pool to meet their individual needs and goals. Activities include a tour of the mentor’s office, a visit to a courthouse and attendance at a Bar Association committee meeting.

The 2011 - 2012 Program will kick off October 6th at the Meet your Mentor reception at the Akron Bar Association Offices from 5:00-6:30 p.m. If you are willing to participate please complete the online registration form by clicking here.

Please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns regarding the 2011 Lawyer to Law Student Mentor Program.
